About the therapist:
Myra Flor Arpin, LMHCA
My story begins with my Filipinx parents and the cultural richness of being Filipinx-American, AAPI, and daughter of immigrants. I would not be where I am today without their support.
If I have seen further than others, it is because
I stood on the shoulders of giants.
I am a cisgender woman of color, bisexual, and neurodivergent.
I grew up in a bicultural household, and now live in a multiracial one. I grew up Roman Catholic and I am now atheist. I grew up in a household that didn't believe in mental health and being vulnerable and now I am a therapist.
My privilege includes being college educated, straight-sized, not having to worry about citizenship status, being lighter brown-skinned, and am housing-secure.
In the past, I have served as an LGBTQ youth advisor, and ran a student mentorship and leadership training program.
My professional interests include: anti-racist education; social emotional learning, normalizing ADHD in girls and adult women, and decolonization of institutions.
